Missing Sheriff's Volunteer's Car Found Abandoned Near 880

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- The abandoned car of a missing Alameda County Sheriff's Department volunteer has been found near Highway 880 in Hayward, authorities said.

But there still is no sign of 21-year-old Karla Ramirez-Segoviano, who was last seen dropping off a friend on 136th Avenue in San Leandro at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

She is as a Hispanic woman, 5 feet tall, 160 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. Ramirez-Segoviano has a distinctive tattoo -- depiction of a dream catcher -- on her arm.

Deputies located Ramirez-Segoviano's vehicle at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday near Happyland Avenue and West A Street in Hayward, near Interstate Highway 880.

But she has no known friends in that area, sheriff's officials said.

"We're just perplexed," sheriff's spokesman Ray Kelly said. "This is very unlike her."

Anyone that sees Ramirez-Segoviano is asked to call the sheriff's office at (510) 667-7721.
