Missing SF Snowboarder Found Alive In Sierra After Night In Cold

CASTLE ROCK (CBS SF) -- A missing snowboarder from San Francisco was found alive after spending the night in the cold in the Sierra.

Abraham Finkelstein disappeared Monday in the Castle Rock area near Donner Summit. He was forced to build a shelter to survive the cold overnight, then hiked his way to a house Tuesday.

Crews spent the day in the back country using snow-cats and snowmobiles to find him, but in the end he found his own way out.

Finkelstein's father was headed back to the car when the two were separated.

He said his son wanted to get in one more run before calling it a day.
