Overnight Standoff With Milpitas Knife Attack Suspect Ends In Arrest

MILPITAS (KPIX 5) – An hours-long standoff between Milpitas Police and a man suspected of attacking a woman with knife ended in the man's arrest early Friday morning.

Milpitas police said Titans Ho had been booked into Santa Clara County Jail on multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of brandishing a weapon, and resisting, obstructing, or delaying an officer.

Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon report at about 11:31 p.m. Thursday in a home on East Calaveras Blvd.

The suspect, later identified as Titans Ho, had approached a woman and swung a kitchen knife at her. She was able to avoid being cut, but she sustained minor injuries from falling while eluding him.

As Ho fled, he brandished the kitchen knife at nearby bystanders. Based on information provided by witnesses and victims, officers determined Ho had fled to his apartment on N. Temple Dr. where he shut himself in his bedroom.

Officers attempted to contact him numerous times for him to come out and surrender, but he refused to comply. As the standoff continued, members of the police department's Hostage Negotiation Team and SWAT Team responded to the apartment.

Officers continued their efforts to negotiate with Ho for a total of nearly four hours to no avail.

Finally, SWAT officers using flash grenades ultimately entered the apartment and arrested Ho without incident.
