Miike Snow, 'Run The Jewels' Score New 'Luke Cage' Trailer

LOS GATOS (RADIO.COM) – So far, trailers for the upcoming Marvel/Netflix series Luke Cage have featured songs by Nas and Ol' Dirty Bastard. The latest trailer, released this morning (August 9), features two songs: Isaac Hayes' rendition of "Walk on By," and Miike Snow's "Heart is Full (remix)" featuring hip-hop duo Run the Jewels.

The show's title character, played by Mike Colter, made his debut in another recent Marvel Netflix series Jessica Jones, and will now star in his own series. The show, like Marvel's other Netflix series, Jessica Jones and Daredevil, takes place in New York City. But while those shows are centered on Hell's Kitchen, Luke Cage is uptown: the show is based on Harlem. And, per the trailers, will be heavy on hip-hop. A Tribe Called Quest's Ali Shaheed Muhammed is the musical director of the show.

Like Jessica Jones, Cage doesn't have a superhero name (although in the comic books, Jones's character was at one point called "Alias," and Cage's was "Powerman" and also "Hero for Hire"). Rosario Dawson appears in the trailer; she's playing Claire Temple, who works in a hospital and helps heroes on the down low; she's also appeared in Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

All of the episodes of Luke Cage, season 1, are set for release on Netflix on September 30.
