Masked Gunman Robs Salinas Pharmacy

SALINAS (CBS SF) - Police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at a Salinas pharmacy late Friday morning.

Around 11:40 a.m., the suspect walked into the business at 323 N. Sanbord Road where he approached a pharmacist and demanded narcotics, police said.

The suspect was armed with a gray semi-automatic firearm, had concealed his face and wore a gray hoodie, according to police.

The pharmacist complied with the demand and the suspect ran away on Cedar Street, police said.

A witness reported the suspect fled to a nearby home, police said.

Officers surrounded and checked the residence but learned the suspect never entered, according to police.

Officers checked the area for the suspect without success, police said.
