Marin County Sheriff's Office Tries To Reunite Stolen Bikes With Owners

SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) -- The Marin County Sheriff's department tried to reunite dozens of stolen bikes with their owners Sunday.

In the graveyard of lost bikes, Omar Martinez was lucky enough to spot his $2,500 gem.

"I really love it. I'm happy the police catch these buys because it's not just me. Too many persons having same problem," Martinez said.

Unfortunately, Martinez was one of the few lucky ones, and deputies admitted that only a handful of bikes were claimed.

Deputies required a receipt or serial number just to look at the bikes.
