Men's Love Triangle May Have Led To Deadly Marin County Trailer Park Shooting

DILLON BEACH, Marin County (KCBS) -- A love triangle between three men may be what led to a deadly shooting Thursday at a remote trailer park near Dillon Beach, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

A man who frequently visited Lawson's Landing was found dead at the trailer park around 2:30 a.m. He had been involved in a long running and troubled affair with two men who shared a trailer there, said Lt. Jamie Scardina.

"Last month, one of the subjects called asking us if we would tell one of the other subjects not to come around anymore," Scardina said.

The two men, both in their 50s, were taken in for questioning after police discovered the victim's body, a 19-year-old Marin County man.

Scardina said police had been called to that residence to investigate disturbances on more than one occasion, most recently last summer.

"In July of last year, we did respond out there for a verbal altercation," he said. That ended with one of the men being taken to Marin General Hospital's crisis unit for psychiatric evaluation.

The suffered at least one gunshot wound and several handguns were recovered at the scene, Scardina said. No one has been arrested or booked in the Marin County jail as of 12:15 p.m.
