Marin City Man Arrested For Pimping Teenage Runaway

MARIN CITY (CBS SF) -- The Marin County Sheriff's Office arrested a Marin City man Tuesday on suspicion of human trafficking of a victim under the age of 18.

The investigation began when sheriff's deputies contacted a female juvenile runaway at a San Rafael motel on March 19, sheriff's Lt. Scott Anderson said.

The girl had been involved in prostitution for more than a year, Anderson said.

Deputies arrested Terrell Bland Jr., 25, of Marin City at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of human trafficking, according to Anderson.

Bland was booked into Marin County Jail for that offense and on suspicion of pimping, unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation with a minor and possession of a firearm by a felon, Anderson said.

Deputies served a search warrant at 49 Cole Drive and conducted a probation search on Buckelew Street in Marin City in connection with the arrest, Anderson said.

Deputies seized handguns and ammunition during the search, he said.
