Man With Felony Warrant Arrested After Barricading Himself In San Jose Home

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A man with a felony warrant who was barricaded in a San Jose home since Sunday evening has been taken police custody, a police sergeant said.

Officers received a 911 call of the man with a felony warrant for his arrest inside a home in the 3200 block of Vernice Avenue around 6:30 p.m.  Sunday, Sgt. Heather Randol said.

Officers attempted to make contact with the man who refused to exit the home, she said.

Police surrounded the home and attempted to evacuate residents in surrounding homes, Randol said.

A police department SWAT unit also responded to the scene Monday morning, she said.

The man was taken into custody around 5:35 a.m., Randol said.

No injuries were reported and no further details were immediately available.
