BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- A 32-year-old man escaped injury when he was robbed shortly after midnight on the campus of the University of California at Berkeley, campus police said.

The robbery was reported at 12:15 a.m. near the east side of the East Asian Library.

Two men or male teens approached the man and demanded his belongings, according to police. The two suspects, described as black and in their late teens or early 20s, took the man's backpack and its contents as well as the items in the man's pockets.

Both suspects were wearing dark clothes and one may have had a handgun, police said.

The suspects were last seen running south through campus.
