Man Tries To Abduct 13-Year-Old From SF Muni Platform

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man tried to abduct a 13-year-old boy from a Muni platform in San Francisco on Wednesday.

It happened in the Bayview neighborhood around 6 p.m.

The boy had just gotten off a light rail car when the suspect grabbed his arm.

"This male suspect is a black male about 50- to 60-years-old and essentially was trying to get the kid to make some money for him," said San Francisco police officer Grace Gatpandan. "I'm not entirely sure what that meant."

Luckily a nearby witness saw what was happening and stepped in. The suspect took off.

Police are scouring nearby surveillance footage in hopes of catching the suspect.
