Man Stabbed Outside Fairfield Shopping Center

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- A 32-year-old man is expected to survive after he suffered a stab wound to his abdomen Sunday afternoon, Fairfield police said.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a shopping center in Fairfield, located at 1955 W. Texas St. around 4:30 p.m., said Sgt. Sam Rowland.

Rowland said the victim and another man got into a fight. He described the man as in his mid to late 20s wearing an orange or yellow shirt.

The victim was transported to a hospital and was able to speak with officers when they arrived, Rowland said.

He said police are still trying to determine if the two men knew each other prior to the fight.
