Man Shot Dead On Street Is 6th Hayward Homicide Of 2016

HAYWARD (CBS SF) -- The Alameda County coroner identified a man shot to death late Friday night in Hayward as 18-year-old Rogelio Torres II.

Officers responded at 10:53 p.m. to a report of shots fired near West Jackson Street and Cypress Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle in the street in the nearby 26000 block of Gading Road, according to police.

Inside the vehicle, officers found Torres II suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The officers attempted lifesaving measures, but Torres II died, according to police. Torres II was a Hayward resident.

There are no suspects in custody and a description of the suspects was not available.

The homicide is the sixth this year in the Hayward, police said.
