Man Posing As Rideshare Driver Assaults, Tries To Kidnap Woman In SF

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man posing as a rideshare driver punched a woman in the face and tried to kidnap her outside a San Francisco nightclub in the SOMA neighborhood.

According to the police report, it happened early Sunday morning around the 400 block of Natoma Street.

A 22-year-old woman exited a nightclub around 1:10 a.m. and got into a vehicle she thought was a rideshare car. The driver took her about two blocks and then stopped the car, turned around and punched the woman in the face and arm. Then the suspect tried to climb into the backseat with the woman but she managed to fight him off and escape.

The victim ran for help and the driver fled the scene.

The driver was described as a while male in his 60s. No description of his car was provided.
