Man Killed In Overnight San Jose Shooting

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police Thursday morning are investigating an overnight shooting that killed a man in San Jose.

Officers were patrolling an area near the 2500 block of Fontaine Road around 2:30 a.m. when they located a suspicious vehicle.

Officers approached the vehicle and located a man suffering from visible injuries, police said.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Medical personnel determined the victim was shot at least once, police said.

The San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit was at the scene Thursday morning investigating the shooting.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown, and the unidentified suspect remains at large.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
