Man Killed In Downtown Oakland Early Thursday Morning

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A man was shot and killed in downtown Oakland early Thursday morning, according to police.

The shooting happened at 2:37 a.m. but officers didn't arrive until 3:09 a.m. when a passerby found the victim lying in the 600 block of 18th Street, between Jefferson Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way, according to police.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have made no arrests in the case and did not immediately release any suspect information.
