Man Injured In Antioch Thursday-Night Shooting

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- A 38-year-old man was injured during a shooting in Antioch late Thursday night, police said.

Antioch police received a report of shots fired during a fight in the 2800 block of Mariposa Court shortly after 11 p.m. A caller advised police that one person had been shot and that everyone involved in the fight was leaving the area.

A couple minutes later, officers received a call reporting a vehicle that had struck parked vehicles in the 600 block of Putnam Street.

Officers arrived on scene and located the shooting victim who had crashed his vehicle as he was trying to drive himself to the hospital.

The man was transported via ambulance to a hospital and treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The shooting remains under investigation and anyone with information about the fight or the shooting suspects is urged to contact Antioch police at (925) 778-2441.
