Man In Custody After 6-Hour Shutdown On SB-280 In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- A man poised over Interstate Highway 280 in San Francisco is now safely in custody this morning and all southbound lanes of the highway are open as of 5:24 a.m., California Highway Patrol officials said.

CHP received the first call at 11:01 p.m. Monday of a person running in traffic and closed I-280 at State Highway 101 at about 11:30 p.m.

CHP brought in negotiators with the San Francisco Police Department to speak with the distraught man.
