Man Hurt In East San Jose Shooting Near Golf Course

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A man suffered at least one gunshot wound during a shooting in East San Jose Saturday night, police said.

At about 7:50 p.m., San Jose police received a 911 call reporting that a person had been shot in the area of South King Road and East San Antonio Street, near Rancho del Pueblo Golf Course, officers said.

When police arrived at the scene they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

He was transported to an area hospital and is being treated for his injuries, officers said.

An unidentified suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of police and has not yet been located, police said.

Police do not know the motive for the shooting and have not determined whether the incident is gang-related.

Officers are canvassing the neighborhood in an attempt to locate witnesses and evidence, police said.
