Man Found Shot Dead On Trail In Vallejo's Hanns Park

VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- Police said there were no suspects yet in the shooting death of a young man at a park in Vallejo Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a report from residents living adjacent to Hanns Park of gunshots fired around 9 a.m., said Vallejo police Lt. Kevin Bartlett.

Later, Bartlett said some people at the park saw a man in his 20s with multiple gunshot wounds and emergency crews declared him dead at the scene.

Bartlett said no suspects have been identified and they have not yet identified the victim.

Detectives are still working on a motive for the shooting.

Bartlett said the park is used by a lot of people to walk their dogs or to go jogging.

"It's kind of a heavily wooded area like a walking park," Bartlett said. "Occasionally kids hang out there and drink but crime is really not that bad there."
