Man Found Injured Near I-980 In Oakland Dies In Hospital

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A man died after he was found injured near Interstate Highway 980 in Oakland early Saturday morning, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a man suffering from multiple traumatic injuries in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way near West Grand Avenue shortly before 12:30 a.m., Oakland police Officer Cynthia Espinoza said.

Arriving officers found the man and he was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, Espinoza said.

Espinoza did not know how the man became injured.

No arrests had been made as of mid-morning Saturday, she said.
