Man Found Dead Inside San Francisco Westfield Mall Identified

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Officials have released the identity of a man who was found dead at a mall in downtown San Francisco on Wednesday morning.

According to the Medical Examiner's office, the body of 28-year-old Frank Galicia of San Francisco was found at the Westfield San Francisco Centre on Market Street around 10:15 a.m.

Authorities said Galacia's death has been ruled as a homicide.

Officials declined to say where Galacia's body was found in the mall.

"We're not disclosing the exact location of where the body was found at this point, to preserve the integrity of the investigation, but we are confirming that it was found inside the mall," said San Francisco Police Officer Grace Gatpandan.

However, employees told KPIX 5 that the body was discovered in a stairwell not typically accessible to the public.

Police have not released further details about the possible cause of death or any suspects as of Thursday morning.
