Man Fatally Struck By Car In San Jose Christmas Morning; Police Investigate As Homicide

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- San Jose police are investigating a homicide involving a man hit by a car early Christmas Day, authorities said Wednesday.

Officers responded at 2:16 a.m. to an alarm call in the 1200 block of E. Santa Clara Street.

A person hit by a car flagged down the officers. Officers found a man lying in the street and he was taken a hospital.

That's where he was pronounced dead. Police said they are investigating the motive and circumstances of the death and trying to identify suspects.

The homicide is the city's 33rd of 2019.

The man's name is not being released yet but will be by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office when the examiner confirms the person's identity and tells his family.
