Man Clings To Life After San Jose Stabbing

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A man was clinging to life after being stabbed in downtown San Jose Friday morning, a police sergeant said.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 300 block of South Market Street at about 2:50 a.m., Sgt. Heather Randol said.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from at least one stab wound, Randol said.

He was transported to a hospital to be treated for his injuries which are considered life-threatening, she said.

Randol said the motive of the stabbing remains unknown and the suspect remains at large.

Investigators have learned that the victim and suspect know each other. Police continue to investigate.
