Man Arrested In Sexual Assault Of Lyft Driver In San Ramon

SAN RAMON (CBS SF) – Police in San Ramon arrested a male suspect Wednesday night who allegedly sexually assaulted a female Lyft driver while getting a ride, authorities said Thursday.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, the Lyft driver contacted the San Ramon Police Department and reported she had been sexually assaulted by a male passenger.

According to the driver, during the brief Lyft ride which started in San Ramon, the suspect made several sexually suggestive comments toward her.

The driver told the suspect to stop but, the suspect continued his advances and ultimately sexually assaulted her.

The victim pulled into a shopping center parking lot off of Alcosta Boulevard and ordered the suspect to get out of her vehicle. She then immediately called San Ramon police.

Officers responded and found the suspect as he was urinating in the shopping center parking lot. The victim positively identified the man, 28-year-old San Ramon resident Peter Edward Voss, as the man who sexually assaulted her.

Voss was placed under arrest and booked at the county jail in Martinez on charges of sexual battery and public intoxication.
