Man Arrested After Leading Sheriff's Deputies On Chase Through Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 53-year-old man early Friday morning after he led them on a car pursuit through Santa Rosa, according to police.

Deputies spotted the man driving a Volkswagen on Todd Road and tried to pull him over for an undisclosed reason.

The driver however refused to pull over and led deputies on a pursuit. When the driver reached the Montgomery Village Shopping Center, near Sonoma Avenue and Farmers Lane, the driver got out of the car and tried to flee on foot.

Deputies quickly apprehended him. He was identified as Stephen Arteseros.

Deputies arrested him on suspicion of evading police and resisting arrest. Arteseros told officers he initially fled from them because he was on parole.
