Man Airlifted To Hospital After Falling From Roof Of Discovery Bay Home

DISCOVERY BAY (CBS SF) -- A 45-year-old man was airlifted Monday morning after he suffered injuries falling from the roof of a home in the community of Discovery Bay, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District officials said.

Fire and medical crews responded at 9:49 a.m. to a home in the 2300 block of Cove Court where a man had fallen from a single-story residence's 15-foot high roof, according to the fire district.

A medical helicopter was called to the scene while responding crews provided care to the man, Battalion Chief Jake Gonzalez said.

The victim, who apparently suffered head and abdominal injuries, was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for further treatment, Gonzalez said.

The cause of his fall has not yet been determined, according to the fire district.
