Male Pedestrian Hit, Killed In Pittsburg

PITTSBURG (CBS SF) -- A male pedestrian was killed when they were struck by a car in Pittsburg Saturday, police said.

Police first reported the fatality around 8:30 p.m. on Railroad Avenue, between Yosemite and Linscheid drives.

Officers closed the southbound lanes of Railroad Avenue for several hours while they investigated the incident, according to police.

The driver who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The identity of the victim has not been released. Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
