3 Suffer Major Injuries In 2-Vehicle Collision On Hwy 12 Near Rio Vista

RIO VISTA (CBS SF) -- Three people suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle collision on state Highway 12 just east of state Highway 113 near Rio Vista Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP initially listed the incident as a fatal collision.

CHP Officer David Harvey said a male driver of a Ford Thunderbird heading east on Highway 12 drove into the westbound lane of the highway and was struck by a Chrysler SUV.

The driver, who suffered major injuries, was the only occupant of the Ford. The two people in the Chrysler also suffered major injuries, Harvey said.
