Major BART Delays Reported In SF Stations After Disabled Train Blocks Tracks

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- BART is recovering Monday afternoon from an earlier delay caused by a train that became disabled in San Francisco.

Around 3 p.m., a Fremont-bound train stopped on the tracks between the Glen Park and 24^th Street Mission stations because of a possible mechanical failure, BART spokesman Taylor Huckaby said.

Another BART train was able to push the disabled train to the 24^th Street station, where passengers were allowed to get off.

The disabled train is now being taken to a yard for repairs, according to Huckaby.

Although the train has been cleared, residual delays were expected for BART trains in all directions this afternoon as a result of the incident.
