Magnitude 3.9 Quake Strikes Off Coast Of Eureka

EUREKA (CBS SF) -- The USGS reported that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9 hit off the California coast about late Monday morning.

The quake hit at about 11:19 a.m. approximately 46 miles southwest of the town of Eureka and just over 27 miles west of Petrolia, according to the USGS website. The earthquake had a depth of 6.33 miles.

There were no reports of any damage in connection with the quake on social media.
