Magnitude 2.8 Earthquake Rattles San Benito County Near Ridgemark

SAN BENITO COUNTY (CBS SF) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.8 struck in San Benito County Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor was reported at 1:45 a.m. about eight miles south-southeast of Ridgemark and roughly 18 miles east of Salinas.

The quake had a depth of about two miles, according to the USGS.
