Lyft Shaves Its Moustache

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Lyft is shaving off its pink moustache logo.

The ride-hailing service says it will replace the old Glowstache with dashboard beacons that communicate with customer smartphones using Bluetooth technology.

The beacons are called Amps, and will light up with a specific color when the car and customer are in close proximity.

The San Francisco-based company says it will make it easier for them to find each other, especially at night, or when multiple people in a certain area are calling for rides at the same time.

The change will begin on January 1st.
