The Walt Disney Company and San Francisco-based Lucasfilm has released the second trailer to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." ** SPOILER ALERT! **

In the 2 1/2 minute trailer, we get a better glimpse of Darth Vader than we have in the first trailer. Although, not represented verbally, IMDB.com lists James Earl Jones returning as the voice of Vader. Plus, we also get a better understanding of the connection Jyn Erso, actress Felicity Jones' character, has to the Empire. The trailer revealed Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Galen Erso, Jyn's father as the architect or designer of the infamous Death Star featured in the 1977 "Star Wars" movie.

On Monday, Lucasfilm revealed the official poster (pictured above) for "Rogue One" and announced the trailer's release.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
