Bizarre, Low-Speed Police Pursuit In LA Ends After Bystander Blocks Car

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) -- A man driving a black convertible led police on a slow-speed pursuit in Los Angeles before a bystander blocked the car.

The man smiled and waved to onlookers Friday as several patrol cars trailed him. His car was decorated with signs that read "Victory Parade."

The hour-long televised chase ended when a man stepped in front of the car and stopped it.

The driver got out of the car and surrendered.

Los Angeles police Capt. Paul Vernon tells City News Service the man who stopped the chase was interviewed and released.
