Spectacular Fire Destroys 2-Story Bel Air Mansion

LOS ANGELES (CBS) -- A mansion in one of Los Angeles' most exclusive neighborhoods was engulfed in flames Thursday evening.

The blaze was reported at about 5:30 p.m. on the 10800 block of West Bellagio Road in the Holmby Hills area of Bel Air.

Eighty firefighters were initially on the scene to battle the fire in the two-story, 7,500-square foot home and up to 107 were fighting the blaze by night's end.

The Los Angeles Fire Dept. said one firefighter was taken to a local hospital with burns to his ears and another had suffered burns to his face and hands.
