Limo Companies Face New Regulations Under Bill Signed By Gov. Brown Following Deadly San Mateo Bridge Fire
SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) -- A new law signed by California Governor Jerry Brown lays out new safety requirements for limo companies.
The bill by Senator Jerry Hill of San Mateo was in response to last year's deadly limo fire on the San Mateo Bridge that killed five women, including a bride-to-be.
The bill requires modified limos that seat up to ten people to carry two fire extinguishers, and undergo a CHP inspection every 13-months.
