Light Pole, Crash Cleared From I-680 After Overnight Wreck

SAN JOSE (KCBS) The California Highway Patrol have reopened all lanes of northbound I-680 at Hostetter Road in San Jose Monday morning following a DUI–related crash involving two vehicles and a light pole

CHP Officer Ryan Fifield The said the initial collision that knocked down the light pole into the roadway and blocking three lanes was reported at 3:08 a.m.

"There was a grey Honda and red Camaro that, for whatever reason, collided in the roadway. That collision caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and onto the right shoulder and the red Camaro collided with power pole, which sent the power pole into the roadway," he said.

Four more cars ended up hitting the pole before crews were able to close the lanes and clean up the debris.

The driver of the Camaro was arrested on DUI charges and two drivers suffered minor injuries.
