Lawsuit Demands Refunds For Owners Of Volkswagen Emissions-Cheating Diesels

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- There is a push to get full refunds for Volkswagen diesel owners in the wake of the emissions-test rigging scandal.

A Seattle law firm filed a class-action lawsuit in Los Angeles federal court Monday demanding refunds for Californians who bought the German diesel cars. When driven they emit 40 times the limit for nitrogen oxide pollution.

Volkswagen has admitted wrongdoing and said it will fix the vehicles, but said it will take more than a year to repair the nearly half-million cars sold in the U.S.

The lawsuit demands an injunction hearing by November and refunds by the end of the year under California emission and express warranty laws.
