Latest Fair Food Creations Compete At Alameda County Fair 'Snackdown'

PLEASANTON (KPIX 5) - Food vendors at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton competed against one another by offering up their latest creations in the first annual "Snackdown" held Tuesday afternoon.

The event, hosted by KCBS Foodie Chap Liam Mayclem, featured twelve items offering a new spin on fair food.

Entries included a Pickle Dog, a pickle fried in batter and stuffed with a hot dog, a bacon burger stuffed with macaroni and cheese, and a red white and blue pizza.

A panel of judges declared the spaghetti ice cream from Cardinali's Ice Cream as the best overall dish.

Fairgoers can try all the dishes that competed. The fair is open every day except on Mondays through July 6th.

Planet Popcorn / Planet Crepes – Red, White & Blue Crepe
Sharky's Fish Fry – Lobster Fries
Stuffie's Char Burger – Macaroni & Cheese Stuffed Bacon Burger
