Larkspur Bakery Provides Goodies For Pope Francis During U.S. Travels

LARKSPUR (CBS SF) -- Pope Francis will be nibbling on baked treats from a Marin bakery during his flights in the U.S.

Marin County based Rustic Bakery is providing olive oil Sel Gris flatbread and Rosemary Pan Forte crostini to be included among in-flight offerings for the pope and the Vatican delegation as they jet between U.S cities.

Through Rustic's connections with airline catering firm LSG Sky Chefs, the bakery was able to provide samples to the Vatican chef some time ago, the bakery's owner Josh Harris told the Chronicle.

Rustic operates three bakery/cafes in Marin County, two in Larkspur and one in Novato.

Pope Francis departed Cuba Tuesday morning and will visit Washington, New York and Philadelphia beginning Tuesday afternoon through September 27.
