Large Power Outage Affecting San Francisco Embarcadero Area

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Numerous power outages were reported along San Francisco's Embarcadero Friday morning.

According to PG&E's website, the outage started at 6:39 a.m and is impacting about 40 customers and street lights from the Ferry building to south of Market.

The majority of the buildings had power restored by about 7:45 a.m. Just before 9 a.m., all but two customers were restored, according to PG&E.

PG&E is bringing in generators to service the remaining two buildings. A spokesperson said the potential equipment failure may have been the result of stormy weather.
