Ex-Petaluma Softball Coach Faces 100 Sex Charges Involving Players At New York College

PETALUMA (CBS SF) – A man who coached softball in Sonoma County for more than 10 years is accused of nearly 100 sex-related offenses involving players at a small New York college.

Kurt Ludwigsen, 43, is accused of inappropriately kissing and touching players he coached at Nyack College, located about 20 miles north of New York City.

Petaluma police investigated him for inappropriate behavior in 2013, but there wasn't enough evidence to charge him.

The school fired Ludwigsen last month, and police arrested him last week.

"We're talking about a repeated pattern of touching breasts, buttocks, kissing on the lips, unwanted contact," said South Nyack Police Chief Brent Newbury.

The coach pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Monday.

Petaluma police are now working with authorities in New York.
