KPIX Meteorologist Paul Deanno To Change His Look For 'Movember' Movement To Fight Cancer

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- Meteorologist Paul Deanno will have an evolving look over the next few weeks as he participates in an annual event to raise awareness of men's health issues such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer and associated charities.

Deanno will participate in the Movember movement, which involves the growing  of moustaches during the month of November to, according to the movenment, "change the face of men's health."

On his personal Movember page, Deanno explains why he is trying to help raise funds and raise awareness of men's health issues:

"I lost my father to cancer nearly six years ago. You only get one "dad", and I miss him each and every day. I'm participating in 'Movember' for my father, and for any of the men in your family that have been lost to cancers like pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, or testicular cancer. A world free of these diseases: It won't happen tomorrow, but with your help... it will happen soon."

The goal for the worldwide Movember movement is to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and help fund research into effective treatments ... and reducing the number of preventable deaths.
