Koko The 'Talking' Gorilla Adopts 2 Tiny Kittens

SANTA CRUZ (CBS SF) -- It seems the bigger they are, the harder they fall... in love.

That was certainly the case when Koko the 270 pound gorilla, who can sign and communicate with humans, first laid eyes on a litter of tiny kittens. It was big love at first sight.

Her caretakers in at the Redwood City-based non-profit, The Gorilla Foundation caught the moment on video.

Since then, she has adopted 2 of the little creatures. She treats them like they are her own babies and cradles the fragile felines in her furry arms.

She even signs about them.

"Put on head," she told her caretaker in the video.

When the caretaker complied, the kitten didn't seem to mind at all.
