KCBS Reporter Creates New Lyrics For Lorde's 'Royals' Cheering On The Giants

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — Some San Francisco radio stations have banned one of the biggest hit songs of the year, "Royals" by Lorde for the duration of the World Series.

So KCBS reporter Doug Sovern decided San Francisco needed its own version of the song to cheer the Giants on as they take on Kansas City.

While Sovern's vocal rendition can be heard on the KCBS All News Radio 740 AM and 106.9 FM throughout the day on Tuesday, the lyrics are posted here:

You've never seen baseball played like this
I cut my teeth on Willie Mays
And McCovey

You can't mess with our success
It's a dynasty Ring number 3

Cuz every game it's like,
Posey Panda Panik or Pence is
Finding all the gaps and swinging for the fences
We don't care
The ball's flying through the air

And every game it's like
Blanco Crawford Morse or Ishikawa
Never know just who'll supply the powah
We don't care
We snatch wins out of thin air

And now we're gonna beat the Royals, Royals
There's no way to stop us
Steal some bases if you must
We're gonna leave you in the dust
Yeah we're gonna beat the Royals, Royals
Gonna end their destiny
Hey KC
You can't stop our dynasty

Bruce Bochy pulls the strings
We've got two Series rings
On our fingers
And everyone in baseball knows
It's an even year
So we'll win another

Cuz every game it's like,
Posey Panda Panik or Pence is
Finding all the gaps and swinging for the fences
We don't care
The ball's flying through the air

Yeah every game it's like,
Mad Bum, Huddy, Romo and Casilla
You can't hit them
Wouldn't want to be ya
We don't care
Cuz we've all got orange hair

And now we're gonna beat the Royals, Royals
There's no way to stop us
Steal some bases if you must
You're gonna get thrown out by Bust-er
Yeah we're gonna beat the Royals, Royals
Gonna end their destiny
Hey KC
You can't stop our dynasty
