Kayaker Finds Body Floating In Waters Off Alviso Marina Near San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - A body was being recovered this morning from the waters off of Alviso Marina near San Jose, fire officials said.

A kayaker reported finding a body in the water there at about 10:15 a.m., San Jose fire Capt. Rob Brown said.

Crews from San Jose and Alameda County fire departments and Cal Fire participated in the search and recovery.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Alviso Marina County Park is located at the southern end of the San Francisco Bay adjacent to the salt ponds and marshes of Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
