Cueto reportedly rejected a six-year, $120 million deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The addition of Cueto bolsters an already strong pitching rotation which includes Madison Bumgarner and Jeff Samardzija, who signed with the Giants earlier this month.
A longtime pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds, Cueto was traded to the Kansas City Royals in the middle of the 2015 season, where he helped lead the Royals to their first World Series championship in 30 years.
Last season, Cueto had a 3.44 ERA in 211 innings.
