John Madden Headed To 'Happiness' Hall of Fame?

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Former Oakland Raiders coach John Madden is already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and next month will be inducted into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame.

And now, the Happiness Hall of Fame wants him. In a recent e-mail to CBSSF.com, Happiness Hall of Fame founder Mike Duffy suggested Madden should be enshrined.

Duffy's message said the Happiness Hall of Fame "celebrates people that make other people happy." On its website, it says it honors "notable philanthropists, athletes, writers, business leaders, artists, job creators, entertainers, doctors, innovators and people that inspire."

During his Daily Madden segment on KCBS Friday morning, Madden said "I don't know that I deserve to be a member." Laughing, he added, "There'd be a lot of people around (saying), 'What do you mean, happiness...that's not the guy I know!'"

Previous Happiness Hall of Fame inductees include Warriors telecaster Jim Barnett, Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, and Muhammad Ali.
