Jennifer And Joe Montana Join KPIX 5 As Special Contributors Ahead Of Super Bowl 50

KPIX 5/CBS SF Announcement:

(CBS) - Jennifer and Joe Montana have joined KPIX 5 as special contributors and featured members of the station's broadcast team during the 2015 NFL season and Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium on February 7, 2016.

The Montanas have committed to make KPIX 5 their exclusive Bay Area television home next season and will play an integral role in the station's coverage of events leading up to Super Bowl 50, which will be the first NFL Championship Game to be played in the area since 1985. Super Bowl 50 will be televised nationally by CBS Sports and locally on KPIX 5, which is also the official media partner of the Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee.

Jennifer Montana's responsibilities will include co-hosting special programs with KPIX 5 anchor Ken Bastida that will focus on local preparations for Super Bowl 50. The first special, entitled "Countdown to Gold," aired earlier this month. No stranger to KPIX 5 viewers, Jennifer returns to the station after having previously served as a correspondent on "Evening Magazine" in the late 80s.

"As a longtime resident, I'm very interested in everything that Super Bowl 50 will bring to the Bay Area. KPIX 5 is familiar ground, and I am delighted to be able to work with this great group," said Jennifer Montana.

One of the most successful quarterbacks in football history, Joe Montana will contribute his insights and analysis of NFL teams and players throughout the 2015 season on KPIX 5 special programs and newscasts. A member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and a two-time NFL MVP, Montana led the San Francisco 49ers to four Super Bowl wins and was named Super Bowl MVP three times, including 1985, when the Niners defeated the Miami Dolphins at Stanford Stadium.

"I am thrilled to have KPIX 5 as a platform to share my experiences and provide my point of view as the NFL season unfolds," said Joe Montana.

The Montanas will also be involved in KPIX 5's promotion and marketing activities throughout the 2015 NFL season.

KPIX 5 President & General Manager Bruno Cohen said: "We are excited to have Jennifer back with us on KPIX 5 and honored to have NFL legend Joe Montana join our team. Along with our partnership with the Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, they make KPIX 5 the place to be for the countdown to the Golden Anniversary of the Super Bowl."

"Joe and Jennifer are beloved members of the Bay Area community. It's great to have them on the KPIX 5 team," said Ken Bastida.

Dennis O'Donnell, KPIX 5 Sports Director, added: "I have covered every Super Bowl team that Joe Montana played on. To have him on our air is the ultimate thrill. I just hope he doesn't call an audible."
